Caroline Sandes
Bromley & Biggin Hill
Resident of Bromley since 2019, I am honoured to be the Green Party candidate for Bromley and Biggin Hill. Employed part-time as a bookseller for nearly ten years, I am a keen supporter of local & independent businesses.
I grew up in Ireland and studied archaeology before moving to London in 2002 to study for a PhD from UCL. I teach at UCL, and at Kingston University.
Through my support for young people, it is brutally clear that support and services for them, has been severely reduced. The Green Party plans to empower councils to improve the support of young and vulnerable people, and to implement housing policies that will help people to find suitable affordable secure homes, ending no fault evictions and bringing down rents.
Biggin Hill airport has been identified as one of the most polluting airports in Europe and, I will fight against all plans for its expansion. NHS, quality of life in terms of environment, housing, employment, education, public transport are key issues. I believe the Green Party offers fairer, stronger, well-funded policies to tackle these issues and others most important to you.
Seamus MCCauley
Orpington
The challenges our society faces are too urgent and too large to trust to the politicians who created them. It's past time to face up to them and offer meaningful change.
We've suffered 14 years now of Conservative rule. It’s made our country poorer, more isolated, more divided and less secure. Labour only offers more of the same.
A general election should offer real choices. I’m offering Orpington the choice of a sustainable future, public investment paid for by fairer taxes, and the choice to rebuild our ties with Europe and the world. The choice of a fairer, greener future.
