Great news about our election results from the vote on the 5th of May - we made many gains which is consistent with the national picture.

Ruth Fabricant
Beckenham Town & Copers Cope
I am a longstanding Beckenham resident. As a parent, grandparent, and teacher, I prioritise policies which promote the physical and mental wellbeing of all. I have campaigned against cuts to public services, and petitioned to ‘Save our Libraries’, ‘keep the Hunting Ban ’and for ‘20 mph speed limits outside schools and in places of need’, such as ‘cut through’ roads where cars zoom. I now urge the return of council funded crossing guards for ALL Bromley Borough schools. These safety measures will enable more children to take the healthier option of walking to school; reduce harmful emissions from ‘school run’ cars and stop hazardous parking outside schools.
I am an active member of Friends of the Earth; CND; Bromley Trades Union Council and Stand Up To
Racism. I celebrate diversity! More about Ruth...
Roisin Robertson
Bickley and Sundridge
Roisin Robertson has long been active in Green campaigning. As a Bromley Times journalist, she supported the Chislehurst station over-bridge, anti-flooding in Lower Camden and the Burnt Ash Roundabout.
Now standing as a Ward Councillor for Bickley & Sundridge. Roisin has been a member of the Bromley Civic Society, Save Our Local Hospitals, Bromley Against FrAcking, CND and Amnesty, supporting Green policies.
Since the changes imposed by Climate Change life has altered. Green policies of wind and solar, protecting the elderly and vulnerable, the mental health of young people, and public ownership, will give us a stable future for all. More about Roisin...
Hannah Moyne Witham
Bromley Common and Holwood
My name is Hannah and I have lived in Bromley for the majority of my life. Currently just off the High Street, with my other half of a few years and Skibba the Cat. I am putting myself forward again as a Green Party candidate for Bromley Common and Holwood as I feel I achieved well in 2018 and enjoyed a good relationship with the local community. Pre-Covid I have been an active member of the Party, attending local events and playing my part in local rallies such as Save our NHS and Stand Up to Racism. More about Hannah...
Ann Garrett
Bromley Town
Ann Garrett is a candidate for Bromley Town, a performing arts tutor for Adult Learning Lewisham, and has been a Green Party member for over 20 years. She is secretary of Bromley CND, convenor of Bromley Peace Council, joint co-ordinator of Bromley FoE, and a member of Amnesty, Bromley Civic Society, and TUC Pensioners Action Association. Recently she has organised local Cop26 climate awareness performances and as part of this is involved in campaigning to urge Bromley Council to declare a climate emergency and reduce pollution. Creating local green new jobs and more social housing are also priorities. More about Ann....
Dan Sloan
Chelsfield
Having lived in Chelsfield and Pratts Bottom ward for over 50 years I am very aware of the concerns of the residents. We are having to protect our valuable yet threatened bus service, fight against inappropriate development, report and prevent fly tipping, retain the local village schools and make safe ways to transport the children to and from these schools. Speeding traffic and parking are also problems that demand attention. With several arable farms in the ward I also have great concern about the frequent spraying and the lack of public notification where they share land with Public Rights of Way. More about Dan...
Maria Psaras
Crystal Palace and Anerley
Having lived in South-East London for the majority of my life, I’ve been a Bromley resident for the past 10 years where I live with daughter and chocolate labrador. I’ve been a Green Party supporter since my late teens when I first started campaigning for animal rights. Fast forward (many!) years, I now volunteer and champion for animal, social and environmental causes. I stood as a candidate in the Crystal Palace by-election last year when I came second to Labour. I am standing again as I believe my professional experience in change and environmental disciplines will help bring about change in a considered, inclusive manner. More about Maria...
Jan Wilson
Darwin
I have lived in Bromley for most of my adult life. I have seen a general deterioration in the services provided. There are 2 main reasons for this: the government and private business have taken responsibility for much of the council’s work. This also means that environmental issues are low on the agenda. I feel that local matters should be administered locally and no private profit should be involved. Until these problems are resolved, Bromley Council should stop taking pride in the low level of council tax and instead improve matters by spending more. More about Jan...
Juergen Wiegerling
Farnborough and Crofton
I am a Farnborough & Crofton resident for almost 20 years and I am standing as a Green Party councillor as I believe it is time to stand up and influence changes at our Bromley Council.
Two big issues for me this year are the cost of living crisis we face, unbearable pollution and noise caused by local air traffic and cars blocking our local roads.
Bromley Council has 50 Conservative Party councillors out of 58 and as a Green Party councillor, I could be a strong voice for our environment, green spaces, cleaner air and health.
It is time that we, the residents of Farnborough & Crofton, have a say over our own freedom and health. More about Juergen...
Sarah Chant
Hayes and Coney Hall
As a member of Environmental Action Coney Hall, Friends of the Park and the Residents Association, I have been active in addressing a number of issues.
The trend for concreting over front gardens for cars is a potential cause of local flooding and ‘landscaping’ back gardens to make them easy to manage, leads to a loss of food sources and nature corridors.
On plans to convert our DIY store, Wickes in to 63 flats, there shop-keepers’ worries about unfair competition and about future pressure on infrastructure. I am keen to preserve the wildlife pond adjacent to the site which has been largely undisturbed for years. More about Sarah...
Dr. Saskia sabelus
Mottingham
I have been a Bromley resident for 16 years where I live with my husband and three daughters, thus I am aware of many local issues. I have been a Green Party supporter for over 20 years, championing environmental and social justice causes.
The cost of living crisis will reveal further deep inequalities in our society, and it is crucial that these are addressed also at a local level.
Improving air quality, introducing inclusive streets, tackling inequalities, offering life-long educational opportunities and providing an excellent quality of life for all represent key aims of mine.
Geoff Allen
Penge and Cator
Penge is an attractive place to live, but it could be better. The introduction of 20mph speed limits has improved the environment and the safety of local roads, yet main roads carry much polluting traffic. I would like to see cycle lanes introduced on Croydon Road and Anerley Hill. Litter is a continuing problem, in particular single-use plastic packaging, which should be banned. I would like a Council-led programme of home insulation, which could be much cheaper than one-off jobs, and save consumption of fossil fuels. More about Geoff...
Heather Wallace Brown
Plaistow
Heather Wallace Brown is the Green Party candidate for Plaistow and has lived in the ward for some years. She is a former Legal Secretary. She is concerned about the large amount of traffic pollution, waste dumping and fly-tipping in the Plaistow area, and wishes to see more environmental regeneration. She is also hoping Bromley Council will soon declare a climate emergency, create more 20 mile an hour limits and increase fully protected cycle lanes. Retaining local shops, creating local green new jobs and more social housing are also priorities both in Plaistow and wider Bromley.
Angela Hulm
West Wickham
I am standing as a Green Party councillor as I believe I can make a contribution to the achievement of environmental goals across the borough. I have been a Bromley resident since 1963 and enjoyed West Wickham life since 1996.
My personal mission has been to reduce waste, reducing my carbon footprint by more than two tonnes in the last year.
I feel that it’s time to stand up and influence changes at council level. My aim is to support individuals and businesses in achieving ‘net zero’, thus improving social well-being, bringing together healthy communities and promoting social justice. More about Angela...
