Greens oppose library cuts

19 November 2014

Bromley Green Party members Ruth Fabricant, Ann Garrett and Roisin Robertson from Bromley attended Bromley Civic Centre for a meeting of the Renewal Policy and Development Committee yesterday, when further cuts to libraries were discussed, including the possible setting up of community libraries in the future.

We are opposed to cuts to library services, including the recently closed Anerley Library. While we support more community involvement in running libraries, we're concerned that this will be used by Bromley Conservatives as a cover to cut back services and reduce local access to these important spaces and resources.
